Clients often ask me about optimizing their site for SEO. What they really want, is to be found easily when potential clients are searching for products or services like theirs. This article is meant to give a basic overview of what SEO (and SEM) are, so you can get a better idea of what you can do to help get your business found on the web. First, let me clarify how I define SEO and SEM: SEO – Search engine optimization – is the code and content you have on your own website so that your site can be easily found by the search engines.

Notice this title doesn’t imply simplicity, or easy SEM*.
